A few bits and pieces

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Sold “Jane,” an old short story, to Fantasy Magazine. Not sure when to expect it to appear.

Received an email out of the blue from Sean Wallace of Prime Books, saying he’d like to do a collection of my short stories, most likely in 2009 or 2010.

My short story, “The Promise,” is now live over at Fantasy Magazine.

It’s been a good week.

“Pieces of Scheherazade” forthcoming in Best American Fantasy

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

“Pieces of Scheherazade” has been selected for inclusion in Best American Fantasy, a prestigious new annual anthology from Prime Books, edited by Matthew Cheney and guest edited by Ann & Jeff VanderMeer. It’s due out in June 2007, but you can check it out here from Amazon. Just going by the list of honorable mentions, I’m honestly pretty shocked (to say nothing of flattered) at the sort of company my story is keeping, but at the same time I’m led to believe this will be a very impressive collection.
